incorporatebreath-
Evidence-driven,
empathy- led.
HOw it started: consultant, athlete, coach and breathwork-instructor, but mainly tired
Hi, I am Stephie, a lawyer by training, former McKinsey consultant, ICF certified coach and breathwork trainer. I have been passionate about all things movement, mindfulness and personal development throughout my whole adult life. And yes, you could say I „should have seen the signs“ before going from always-on-fire, training before work and 14 hour workdays and loving it to: panic attacks, loss of purpose and hardly getting myself out of bed- but: I didn’t!
how it went: basing Breathwork on evidence
For me, overcoming the feelings of helplessness happened through understanding the physiological underpinnings of what was going with me.
This understanding, together with pre-existing knowledge about emotional and physiological effects of breathwork, led me to believe that there would be a chance to improve my symptoms with a structured approach to modulating my breathing.
I started analysing studies about the interconnection of the breath, resilience and emotions and based on that built an application to design structured, evidence-backed breath practices for my personal needs.
The effects for me were noticeable quickly after- being able to control anxiety and panic on the spot while respecting it’s origins and overall return to a baseline where the default is not anxiety, but calm and trust in myself, enabled me to made choices, I before was too scared to take.
How I work: give, what I would like to get
My idea for incorporatebreath is born from the desire to give the support I wish for when experiencing physical or emotional symptoms that leave me questioning myself:
-
-
- speaking facts rather than „new age spiritualism“
- giving insights and creating understanding and compassion around what is going on with me
- understanding that reality isn’t always 1 hour of meditation followed by a green smoothie and still yielding results
- treating mind-body-encompassing symptoms with a mind-body-encompassing approach
- meeting at a place of no-judgement, empathy, honest interest and commitment to progress.
